Produktinformationen "Heat Transfer"
In this book, we include all relevant subjects in a clear and concise way for engineering courses, which encompass the different modalities, since the discipline makes up the curriculum of practically all modalities. The various subjects are treated for application in an introductory course, but the work also has enough depth for a more advanced course. It is customary to divide the subjects of heat transfer into its three fundamental forms, namely conduction, convection and thermal radiation. On the mass transfer side, mass diffusion and convection occur. In accordance with many engineering curricula, a smaller course load is devoted to mass transfer and therefore the subject has been concentrated in the last chapter so that there is a fluidity and continuity of the subject of heat transfer in the first eleven chapters and the presentation of mass transfer occurs separately.Chapter 1 presents an introduction to heat and mass transfer phenomena in a broad sense. One-dimensional heat conduction or diffusion in a steady state is treated in Chapter 2. The subject is expanded to two- and three-dimensional geometric situations in Chapter 3, including an introduction to numerical solution methods. In Chapter 4, transitional problems for elementary situations, such as concentrated systems, and cases of more complex geometries are addressed both through analytical solutions and numerical techniques. The forced convection of heat over its external and internal surfaces are treated in Chapters 5 and 6, respectively. The case of natural or free convection is covered in Chapter 7. Chapter 8 is devoted to phase change heat transfer in the modes of condensation and vaporization. One of the major applications of heat transfer occurs in the thermal design of heat exchangers, a subject covered in detail in Chapter 9. The phenomena of thermal radiation are covered in Chapters 10 and 11, the first of which is dedicated to the fundamentals and the second to applications in engineering, when the theory of form factors is presented. Finally, the last chapter covers the phenomena of mass diffusion and convection. The authors understand that all text is subject to corrections and adjustments and are grateful in advance for any suggestions and comments to improve the book, which can be sent to the authors. As a final word, it is worth highlighting that this work is the result of the authors' experience in teaching the discipline. The first author has over 30 years of experience teaching heat and mass transfer. Many solved and proposed problems were test questions from both teachers.
